Employment website Seek has launched a survey, with hopes of creating a national comparison of salary packages from the results.

As an incentive to enter, over the next six months, one person every week will win the average weekly wage of $1,103. People who refer the survey will get an extra chance to enter.

Carey Eaton, Seek product director, is urging everyone to enter. “Let’s face it, we all want to be paid what we’re worth but most of us hate salary negotiations. I can’t think of a better way to prepare than getting a really good feel for what other people with similar skills and experience are earning,” he says. “If Australians get behind this we’ll have a really comprehensive guide that anyone can use to make sure they are getting a fair go in their workplace. It will also help employers who offer generous packages and added benefits such as paid maternity leave to get recognition for that.”
