Launched yesterday, a new online data centre will allow retailers to access online shopping trend data from over 3 million Australian internet users.

The Retail Data Centre is part of the publicly available website Hitwise. The data centre aims to provide weekly online shopping trend data, based on how Australian Internet users interact with more than 22,000 online shopping sites, across 21 shopping categories.

With a timely launch in the lead up to the Christmas holiday season, the data aims to illustrate which websites consumers are visiting and the terms they are searching for when shopping.
