Vodafone using entrepreneurs to drive retail growth

Vodafone Australia has revealed a new retail expansion strategy that invites entrepreneurial Australians to open their own Vodafone Select Dealer stores.
Vodafone Select Dealer stores are exclusive, fully-branded Vodafone retail outlets owned and operated by independent business people.

Vodafone launched the concept in November 2007 with little fanfare and has since helped to establish more than 30 Vodafone Select Dealer stores throughout Australia. Over the next year, Vodafone plans to grow the number of Vodafone Select Dealer stores and is calling for expressions of interest from new and established entrepreneurs who are keen to own and operate their own retail business.

Vodafone will provide retailers with wholesale buying rights to the Vodafone product range. Select Dealers will also benefit from direct access to the global Vodafone brand and receive all necessary customer service and provisioning systems. “It’s not a franchise. It’s up to the owner to develop their business plan, build a strong understanding of customer needs and energetically bring the retail site to life,” said Steve Bannigan, General Manager Commercial Operations.
