Entrepreneurs from NSW are encouraged to apply for NSW Pitch ’08, a joint initiative by the Australian Small Scale Offerings Board Limited (ASSOB) and the NSW Department of State of Regional Development (DSRD). The contest introduces innovative businesses and projects to industry experts.

NSW Minister for Small Business, Joe Tripodi, says the competition is a chance for businesses to connect with potential investors. “A good idea is nothing without backing. I encourage any small business owner who is ready to make their mark to enter this exciting competition.”

The prize pool, worth over $60,000, includes a $40,000 listing on the ASSOB, two runner-up prizes worth over $10,000 each and business mentoring for 10 short-listed businesses. Prizes will be awarded during a ceremony at the Powerhouse Museum on 6 September 2008 as part of Small Business September.

Applications close 7 July 2008. See www.pitch08.com.au for details.
