The iPhone 3G is almost here and now Optus has released pricing plans. Twice as fast as the first generation iPhone and with built-in GPS, iPhone 3G will be available to pre-paid and post-paid customers on the Cap and ‘yes’ mobile plans.

Post-paid customers can get their hands on the 8GB iPhone 3G for $0 on a $79 ‘yes’ iPhone 3G Cap, while pre-paid customers can grab one for $729. An unlimited data allowance is available for the first month if you sign-up before August 31.

Pre-paid customers will also receive $400 of bonus credit to use within 30 days of activation. And Optus has increased the value of its pre-paid Turbo Caps, adding extra data allowances to recharges from $40.
