NatStats08 Conference, 19-21 November 2008, Crown Promenade Hotel, Melbourne

The NatStats08 Conference Board is pleased to invite you to attend the NatStats08 Conference to be held at the Crown Promenade Hotel in Melbourne from 19-21 November 2008.

The Conference will focus on the measurement issues surrounding key policy areas and will be attended by people from across government, business, academia and the community.

The speakers include an array of high profilepolicy and decision makers such as: Professor Glyn Davis, Vice Chancellor of the University of Melbourne and co-convenor of the 2020 Summit; Dr Ken Henry, Secretary Treasury; Gary Banks AO, Chairman Productivity Commission; and Enrico Giovannini, Chief Statistician, OECD.

The conference theme is Working Together for an Informed Australian Society and the program will look at three main areas:

· Informing the Nation

· Measuring the Progress of Society

· Informing the Environment Debate.

Participating in NatStats08 will provide you with the opportunity to:

· Learn from experts and experience first hand the latest developments and the future directions of key national statistics.

· Connect with the statistical community on the issues and challenges in creating a culture of evidence-based decision making.

· Share your experiences and raise awareness of the significant issues within your field.

· Network with policy makers from across government, industry, academia and the community.
