Business Club Australia (BCA), Austrade’s business matching program, is once again helping produce international business opportunities through the use of major sporting events. Membership to BCA is free, and those registered can benefit from corporate networking, among other things.
The next event in sight is the Melbourne cup carnival, during which BCA members can wine and dine their international business visitors at Victoria Racing Club's International Lounge. For this occasion applicants have to demonstrate a case for why this form of corporate networking will benefit their businesses exports. Complimentary racecourse admission, racebook, food and beverages will be supplied to successful members.
Even more networking opportunities are arising with the upcoming Beijing 2008 Olympics. BCA is endorsed by the Australian Olympic Committee and has been listed as Australia’s international business program during the Games. Events in both Australia and China have been organised for the lead up to, and during the Olympic Games. The Novotel Peace Hotel in Beijing, also “home” to the Australian Olympic Team and participating BCA members, will host targeted business matching through one-on-one meetings during the games.
