Labor’s attack on secrecy

Launched today, a new Labor campaign against WorkChoices targets the controversial introduction of the laws since the last election. Julia Gillard, Labor spokeswoman for employment and industrial relations, said that WorkChoices was sprung on an unsuspecting public and that the public could expect more if the government was re-elected.

She produced the Coalition’s last election policy, issued by John Howard and Peter Costello, pointing out that "not one word" mentioned the WorkChoices industrial relations reform. "Despite not telling Australians anything about it, Mr Howard and Mr Costello brought you the extreme WorkChoices laws," she said.

The television and radio advertisements started running today.
