Government believes small business is important

Small business is big business, according to this year’s Encouraging Enterprise, the annual small business report launched by Fran Bailey, Minister for Small Business and Tourism.

"Small business is now more important than ever as it continues to drive innovation, exports and jobs growth," Bailey says.

The report covers a number of themes, from innovation to exporting, intellectual property to entrepreneurship as well as case studies of successful small businesses over the 2006/07 financial year. Copies are available from the government’s small business website (industry.gov.au/smallbusiness) along with additional information about government programs and policies.
