Start-ups and small businesses looking to grow should look into Pitch ’08, a competition for entrepreneurs and business owners to pitch their idea, project or businesses to investors.

Four states—New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia—are running the contest, supported by the Australian Small Scale Offerings Board (ASSOB) and partners in each state such as the NSW Department of State and Regional Development, the Victorian Government and The Innovation Centre WA.

The prize pool, worth over $60,000, includes a $40,000 listing on the ASSOB, two runner-up prizes worth over $10,000 each and business mentoring for 10 short-listed businesses.

NSW deadline 7 July 2008
QLD deadline TBA
VIC deadline 9 June 2008
WA applications closed
