At 61 percent, consumer confidence is on the rise, and the highest it has been since 2004, according to the Sensis Consumer Report.

“The consumer confidence indicator shows that about seven in 10 Australians are confident about their financial prospects for the year ahead, while about one in 10 are worried,” says Christena Singh, report author. “Employment is the biggest reason Australians are confident about their financial prospects, while interest rates and inflation concerns are the biggest contributors to being worried.”
The indicators all point to consumers spending more this Christmas season.
