Confidence Drops As Skills Shortage Continues 10-32 27th Feb 2008

Business confidence is falling, according to figures from the latest Sensis Business Index. Queensland in particular is facing a 36 percent drop.

Paul Bidwell, from Commerce Queensland, blames the skills shortage. "People are unable to recruit and retain the staff they need," he says. "That's the biggest constraint on business and that may well flow on to wages growth, which was again an issue people indicated was causing them some angst."
