An Australia-wide survey on work–life balance, conducted on behalf of Converge International, shows that almost four in five employees would like to work from home if given the chance. But, says social researcher Mark McCrindle, working from home will not replace the office completely because many staff enjoy the sense of community that work provides.
The survey also revealed that over 70 percent would still work, even if they won enough money to never have to work again.
“What this means is that work-life balance is just as much about not having too much work as it is about having some work,” says Converge CEO Dr Lindsay McMillan. “Evidently, Australians want it all.”
The results came from 3,000 respondents across various demographics.
