Aussie men more flirty

Australian men are more likely to sleep with their boss for a raise or promotion, found a HR Live survey, with 20 percent of the men surveyed admitting their willingness.

Men are also twice as likely as women to flirt in order to advance up the rungs, yet 84 percent of employees still believe this form of behaviour is unethical.

“Female respondents said they had less respect for colleagues who used their sex appeal to get ahead,” says Stuart Milne of HR Live. “They [females] were also more likely to believe dressing sexy at work or flirting with a colleague or client had a negative impact on an employee’s career.”

“Across all sections, opinions and attitudes about flirting were favourable with younger respondents and less positive with older participants,” adds Milne.

Despite 54 percent of men saying flirting is good for business and should be encouraged, only 40 percent believe it actually has a positive impact on an employee’s career.
