Australia is recognised as one of the strongest brands in the world, with a clean and green environment, high safety standards and friendly and innovative people. It is perhaps no wonder then that products from Australia are highly sought after and increasingly available in global markets, including the Middle East.
Seafood from Australia’s pristine waters, honey with Australia’s unique flavours, healthy fruits and vegetables and delicious dairy products are now favourites with consumers from Bangkok to Brussels, while ground breaking Australian innovations ranging from industrial products to pharmaceuticals and IT helps businesses and the people behind them achieve outstanding results.
“Australia may be a relatively small country in terms of population, but it is a great country in terms of its output. The products we make and the produce we grow are unique and something that we are very proud of. Australians have appreciated their own goods for a very long time, but we’re now also pushing to bring these goods to global consumers who very clearly have a hunger for all things Australian,” explains Ian Harrison, chief executive of the Australian Made, Australian Grown Campaign.
The Australian Made, Australian Grown Campaign is the not-for-profit organisation that administers the use of Australia’s most recognised and trusted country of origin brand, the famous stylised kangaroo in the triangle.
The logo can be found on close to 10,000 products ranging from delicious produce to innovative machinery—all made or grown in Australia. Consumers around the world, including in markets such as the United Arab Emirates, can now look for the logo to make sure the products they are buying are really Australian.
The Australian Made, Australian Grown Campaign recently received federal government funding to increase its export promotions and as part of its promotions will be increasing the profile of Australian products and produce carrying the famous logo in selected export markets around the world. “This is an exciting project for the Campaign and Australian exporters because it is all about further strengthening the impact of the symbol that for 22 years has helped build the presence of Australian goods in international markets,” says Harrison.
Only products registered with the Campaign may carry the green and gold kangaroo symbol, signifying goods that are truly Australian.
