Sweet deal for first home buyers

By Jessica Stanic on Monday, 2 February 2009

The market for first home buyers has just gotten a whole lot sweeter with the launch of new website Our Home Sweet Home www.ourhomesweethome.com.au, designed to provide first home buyers with all the information they need to purchase a home and realise the great Australian dream of home ownership.

The independent site offers tools, calculators and how to guides for first home buyers, free of influence by anyone other than the independent team at Our Home Sweet Home, according to chief executive Peter Boehm.

“We want to make sure the first home buyer has all the information they need to avoid costly mistakes in the purchasing process. The special offers and deals we have available are all designed to save money – and every bit helps when you are saving for your deposit.”

The site, established by a trio of well respected businessmen – Peter Boehm, Stephen Moulton and Steve Kloss, has partnered with Westpac, ANZ and Bankwest, Residex and Mills Oakley to offer members special deals on their products and services.

Boehm believes that housing affordability has become a big issue and first home buyers need all the help they can get in making an informed purchasing decision.

“Housing affordability is now among the most serious of issues affecting Australians. Our Home Sweet Home aims to become the advocate for the first home buyer demographic to lobby governments and government departments to make positive decisions that will have a direct impact on both the availability and affordability of houses.”
